I have had a few hick-ups with bluetooth connectivity especially with the Apple’s own magic mouse 2. Not that it’s impossible to hear, is just that they seem a bit underwhelming.įinally, bluetooth. This might just be an issue with mine, or I am just expecting too much from a 13' laptop, but I find myself trying to get more volume quite often. The volume on this laptop is just not that loud. What am essentially trying to say is that the touch bar feels like am devoting a little bit too much attention away from what I was doing in order to operate it. Most importantly with mechanical keys after a while they become second nature and you can press them without really thinking about it. Once to bring up the equivalent brightness and volume buttons and once to actually to turn them up or down. For example for normal tasks such as changing the brightness and volume of the touch bar, you have to tap twice where before it was just once. For the most part it makes even the most simple tasks worse. In the two weeks that I have had with this laptop there was not a single moment where I said “ ah thank god I have the touch bar instead of actual keys”. It’s not like they are unusable by any stretch of the imagination and am sure I will get used to them at some point, I just think they aren’t as satisfying to type on as the old MacBook keyboards. Apple’s new magic keyboards are praised by most reviewers on being better than the old butterfly keyboards but I am not sure if the bar was set that high. I should pretext this by saying, this laptop has replaced my old 2014 MacBook Air and the keyboard on that laptop was excellent. Something else to keep in mind is that, with the performance these chips are able to deliver in such a portable package, I think a lot of developers are gonna start supporting MacOS for their games, is just a matter of time.
